Merge Continues Bulge

Merge Agency has recently added new staff in all departments including account service, design and technology to service the firm's expanding client base.

Paul Welty has been promoted from principal and director of technology to president, chief operating officer and director of technology. Welty's new role better positions Merge to execute its multiple-office sales and development strategy. Welty's new responsibilities include leading Merge's methodology, marketing, and strategy; selling engagements; as well as managing delivery on accounts.

Jeffrey Jones was recently promoted to vice president and creative director of Merge. In his new position, Jones will have an increasing role in managing customer engagements and developing Merge's steadily growing design department.

Moira Vetter has been promoted from account lead and marketing and brand strategist to VP, account strategy. Her new responsibilities include managing Merge's account leads and setting and establishing account goals. In addition, Vetter leads Merge's marketing and branding activities.

Jim Densmore was recently hired by Merge in the role of art director. Densmore has an award-winning 14-year professional history, leading design development for brands such as General Motors, Home Depot, Coca-Cola, NCR and SAKS. Densmore was previously with the design teams of J. Walter Thompson and Elemental Interactive of Atlanta.

Kirk Wells was recently promoted to senior designer at Merge. His new title reflects a growing role in internal design leadership. Wells is in his second year as a Merge team member and was most recently involved in award-winning development for Project Open Hand and Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA).

Lori Umberg was hired as web strategist. She was previously at Thondo Communications, where she served as senior web project manager. Umberg's experience includes producing creative end-to-end web solutions for clients such as the Italian Trade Commission.

Shane Weaver was hired as an account executive and comes to Merge from CI Marketing where he was an account executive. He previously served as traffic manager and production manager at Matlock Advertising and PR.

Michele Butler was hired as office manager to assist the CEO, president and to manage Merge's growing office. Butler has 16 years experience in office management and accounting in the manufacturing and industrial sector. She has an associate degree in Accounting Technology from Gwinnett Technical College.

Merge has also added a bevy of new clients, including: architectural firm Smallwood; Reynolds, Stuart, Stuart & Associates; RMI, a provider of information and financial management systems to the rail and shipper carrier industry; Lightyear Technology, a digital x-ray, imaging and software provider to the dental industry; and Velocity Sports Performance, a scientifically advanced sports training center.
