Designers, on Your Mark

If you can design the Peachtree Road Race’s race T-shirt, you could net 1,000 smackeroos. The annual race, sponsored by the Atlanta Jour nal Constitution and the Atlanta Track Club, is on the look out for design on the coveted Race T-shirt. The winning designer gets a $1,000 cash award. Four other designers will win $100 each.

Inciting over 55,000 runners and their well wishers, the contest has become a signature city event. Interested in submitting an idea? Look for a submission form running in the Journal Constitution or visit www.atlantatrackclub.org. Here are the main rules:

• Designs should measure 12” x 12”

• Entries should be submitted on white unlined paper or illustration board. Designs must be executed in one of the following media: color markers, paint, colored pencils, inks, chalks or crayons.

• An official entry form or fax must be submitted with each de sign. Do not affix entry form to artwork.

• Do not write on front/back of artwork.

• Designs should include the race title Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. It should be located at the top of the design. The word Peachtree should be at least 2” high.

• Color copies of original designs will be accepted.

• Designs may be hand drawn or designed on a computer, but clip art is not allowed.

• All entries must be submitted together; limit 3 entries per person

• Designs must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2002 and should be sent to:
