The Revolution at Atomic Fusion

Though two centuries have passed since the struggle and triumph of America's first fight for freedom, the spirit of the Revolutionary War lives on, resurrected by recent troubling times, and by a new website from the National Park Service and Atomic Fusion. Atomic Fusion principal Shawn Keith created the site as a marketing tool for the parks bureau, a destination designed to help America's most historic sites attract both vacationers and local residents. Subtitled "Lighting Freedom's Flame," the website is organized into four major sections: (1) About the Revolution -A reference catalog that provides key information about the war; (2) Tour the Revolution -An interactive tour that takes users through historical sites in the Eastern and Midwestern states; (3) Educational ResourcesÑStudent activities and teaching resources designed to help pass the memory of the revolution on, and into the minds of a new generation; and (4) The Unfinished RevolutionÑNew Perspectives and thought provoking articles on the continuing importance of this historic event. "We wanted to alert people to upcoming events celebrating the 225th anniversary of the Revolution and also to create an official website pulling together information on federal, state and private historic sites that people can visit," said Bob Blythe, project coordinator for the Park Service. "The site is organized to include not just the famou places associated with the revolution such as Independence Hall in Philadelphia and the Saratoga Battlefield in New York, but lesser known areas such as South Carolina's Ninety Six National Historic Site and Historic Camden, as well."
