Petunia Comes Up Roses

From Writer / Director John Levy, Producer Linda Burns and Lab 601, comes word that that "Petunia," a musical comedy about an old man who believes that his dead wife has come back from the grave, was one of four American films officially selected for competition at the Evora International Short Film Festival in Portugal. "Petunia" debuted at the Atlanta Film Festival last year.

"Petunia" screened in High Definition to a sold out, standing room only, 400 seat capacity crowd at the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Alabama. It won Best Experimental Short: Audience Award at the 12th Annual Woods Hole Film Festival, Best Comedy Short: 2nd Audience Award at the 8th Annual Film Fest New Haven, and Best of the Fest: Best Short Narrative at our local Downstream International Film Festival. "Petunia" also received an Honorable Mention from both the Great Lakes Independent and Boston Underground Film Festivals. "Petunia" has also competed in numerous other festivals, awaits decisions from festivals around the country, and will compete next at the 37th Annual New York Expo, her first screening in the Musicals Capital of the World.
