Primal Screen Works on Fridays

Primal Screen did a little video time travel for The Cartoon Network recently, as the firm created the new opening for the network's Fridays series. In the span of only 60 hyperactive seconds, Primal Screen wrangled over 100 classic and newcomer cartoon characters for the new Fridays open. The piece, conceived by Cartoon Network's Writer/Producer Steve Patrick, depicts a fantastic and frenetic journey from space, over the city's rooftops, and through the front doors of Cartoon Network's offices. The camera careens through the hallways, the cafeteria and studios, all the while catching cartoon personalities creating untold havoc and interfering with Cartoon Network's human employees, before finally coming to rest at the epicenter of the mayhem: the Cartoon Network broadcast control room.

Joining McGee on the Primal Screen creative team were Doug Grimmett, Creative Director; Susan Shipsky, Executive Producer; Tripp Rhame, Director of Photography; Jeffrey Fastner, Animation Director; Fumi Yozawa, Carlos Maya, and Daniel Wiggins, 3D modeling; Jeremy Seymour, compositing; Brian Ludwick, Production Coordination; Mark Apen, Line Producer; and Hunter Matheson, producer. Producer Steve Patrick was joined by Cartoon Network producer Christina Augustinos.
