Achievement Abounds at Creativity Atlanta

Heart-warming appreciation, heart-felt congratulations, and even a few tears marked this year's Silver Medal Awards luncheon, held March 16 at Maggiano's Buckhead. The banquet got off to a light start, as speaker Greg Ingram of Chick-fil-A led the hungry crowd though a retrospective of the company's now famous "eat mor chikin" cow-adorned ads. (And no, there was no beef served that day.)

And then, the awards.

Receiving the Young Advertising Professional Award was April Voris of Cole Henderson Drake (CHD). Voris recently celebrated five years of service with CHD, starting fresh from the University of Alabama in 1999. She is now CHD's client services supervisor, and has lent her talents to a number of accounts, including Delta Apparel, Mauna Lani Resort, and The Neighborhoods of the World Golf Village.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to industry veteran Frank Compton of Sawyer Riley Compton, who accepted the honor after a moving speech by colleague Bart Cleveland.

And finally the man of the hour (or of any hour, really), Guy Tucker of Ask Guy Tucker received the Silver Medal. With his family and father present, Tucker graciously accepted the honor.
