Ah, the coveted One Show Gold Pencil. Many a student will dream of its giant graphite tip, but oh-so-few will know the glory of its heft upon their desk. Fortunately for those of us in Atlanta, attending Portfolio Center or The Creative Circus gives one a good shot at the golden glory. Such was the scene this year, as eight area students took home golds, bronzes and, in one case, a one-of-a-kind scholarship in the One Show's College Competition.

And now, out of 563 entries from advertising students around the world, the local winners are:

Gold: Lisa Geubtner, Anja Duering, and Colleen Wilson, from Portfolio Center, awarded in advertising.

Gold: Denison Kusano, and Mara White, from The Creative Circus

Bronze: Luis Erazo, Keith Rios, and Chad Lynch, from The Creative Circus, all awarded for design.

In addition to receiving Gold, Silver or Bronze Pencils, winners of the competition also received cash prizes of $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000, respectively. The winning campaign was chosen by the One Show jury during its judging sessions in New York this March.

Also awarded was the Patrick Kelly Scholarship, presented this year to Chad E. Lynch of The Creative Circus.
