HUEY/PAPROCKI PLAYING WITH POWER TOOLS

New clients, new campaigns, and new recognition are keeping Huey/Paprocki Advertising (HPA) busy. Hitachi Power Tools U.S.A. (HPT) selected Huey/Paprocki as its advertising agency of record. HPA will help HPT craft its positioning strategy, brand image and advertising creative. The new Hitachi Power Tool campaign will break in the 4th quarter of 2004. Hitachi Power Tools does not disclose advertising investment levels, but the campaign will appear in a range of publications targeting general consumers, do-it-yourselfers and construction professionals.

HPA is also busy with the roll-out of a new pro-bono magazine, newspaper and outdoor campaign for the Appalachian Region of the Sierra Club. This community outreach campaign is designed to alert Atlanta residents of a new Sierra Club opportunity to meet, socialize and learn to protect the planet. Co-sponsored by Sweetwater Brewing Company and Teaspace, Sierra Club & Beer events are held quarterly at Teaspace in the Little Five Points section of Atlanta. Each event includes a special educational guest speaker, overviews of upcoming Sierra Club events, and free beer. Mmmmm.beer.

The campaign includes two creative concepts each featuring an appetizing close-up of a glass of beer. One concept, "Bark", features condensation on the beer glass closely resembling tree bark while the other, "Topo, " features topographic lines (commonly found on wilderness maps) in the beer foam. The campaign creative will run in Atlanta community newspapers/magazines (on a donated space basis), direct mail/flyers, Internet sites, as well as in posters widely distributed in Atlanta.

And finally, congratulations are due. The editors of Communication Arts Magazine have selected HPA as one of only four advertising agencies worldwide profiled this year. The September/October issue of Communication Arts (CA) magazine included an eight-page profile of the Atlanta-based creative agency and features an in-depth interview with its founders Ron Huey and Joe Paprocki , as well as samples of HPA's award-winning television and print advertising.
