Hands On for Austin Kelley

Austin Kelley Advertising has recently finished production of a new TV spot for Hands On Atlanta, the volunteer organization best known for its annual Hands On Atlanta Day, where thousands of volunteers do projects in and around the Atlanta metro area. This spot will be the first effort of an advertising campaign. Says creative director Duncan Stone, "People only know Hands on Atlanta for their events. But what's even more important is that Hands On Atlanta offers volunteering opportunities 365 days a year. In our ads we're focusing on the fact that they make it really convenient for individuals to volunteer for just a couple of hours at whatever suits their interests and really make a difference."

The spot opens to a black background with dramatic music and type that details a great moment in history, like the first flight at Kitty Hawk or Paul Revere's ride, along with the time it took to accomplish. At the end the announcer states "It doesn't take long to make a difference. Volunteer at Hands On Atlanta." The spot was low on cost but the agency feels it will be high on impact. They are planning to roll out print and outdoor in addition to the TV spot.
