Taking Care Of Our Own Taking Care Of Our Own When the Atlanta film and video community learned that Bill Fibben, one of its members, had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the community collectively knew what it had to do. Raise money. And raise money, they did. On Saturday, November 7, a benefit concert and silent auction at Center Stage was held to honor and help Bill, his wife Alison Fibben, and their family. The concert featured four local bands, David Hulsey, The Jim Spruell Band, Lost Legends, and The Flip Charts, and was emceed by Tom Acuragi. Over 100 items were donated to the silent auction from the creative community, including fine art, photography, vacations, and many film and video services. By the end of the evening, nearly $30,000 had been raised to assist with Bill's recovery.

No good party comes off without food! Scrumptious catering was provided by Back To The Garden, Carole Parks Catering, Feeding Frenzy, Four Corners Location Catering, Location Catering of the South, Roadshows Catering, and Tastefully Yours Catering. Centerpieces were supplied by Celebrations Over Atlanta. "It was incredibly inspiring to see the way the entire community pulled together and set this evening up," said Austin Kelley Advertising Creative Director Jim Spruell after his band's set. "What an amazing gift to have friends who care this much. Bill must be very, very loved."

Indeed, he is. If you would like to contribute, please mail your donation to The Fibben Fund, P. O. Box 246, Avondale Estates, GA 30002. If you have questions, please call Marivee Cade at 404-534-0683. Kudos to the Atlanta film and video community for an amazing effort!
