Crawford Communications, Inc. designed and produced a computer animated station i.d. for San Diego based Odyssey Productions. The sequence, designed by Robert Taylor of Crawford Digital and Jason Ett of DESIGNefx with original soundtrack by Randy Garmon and Reid Hall of m&e (music & effects), will serve as the identifying opener for all future Odyssey Productions videos, including the well known "MIND'S EYE" video series. The :45 animation, created in Alias/Wavefront Maya and composited in Flame by effects editor Scott Balkcom, is a visual representation of "THE MINDS EYE" concept. The Crawford-created opener will debut on "COMPUTER ANIMATION MARVELS," the twentieth video in the immensely popular "MINDS EYE" series.

Crawford Satellite Services won the network origination contract for two of the domestic analog networks for Disney: The Discovery Channel and TLC. The Travel Channel, another Discovery network, already originates from Crawford Satellite Services. Discovery Channel and TLC started originating live from Crawford in December. The transition took place over a seven week period. To meet this need, Crawford built out two master control suites, formerly two interformat suites known as Edits B & C. Crawford also acquired a nine-meter antenna, in addition to its array of 30 antennae, four transmit chains, and two new Odetics TCS 90 automated cart machines equipped with Sony Digital Betacam and Techtronix Profile caching.
