Crawford Communications in conjunction with The Atlanta Ad Club and the Creative Club of Atlanta, co-hosted “HDTV: Are You Ready?” an educational seminar on high definition and advertising at the Fernbank Museum. The seminar was designed to introduce advertising agencies from across the Atlanta area to high definition and the increasing capabilities of this cutting edge technology.

The keynote address was given by David Perry, Executive Vice President and Director of Broadcast Production for Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising. Perry showed a reel of commercials finished in high definition, including spots for Noxzema and Procter & Gamble. A panel discussion followed which included Perry and several Crawford Communications staff who work in the areas of film-to-tape transfer, editing, effects compositing, and 5.1 surround sound mixing.

Since 1998, Crawford Communications has been a pioneer in high definition, offering high-definition transfers with their Spirit Datacine and high-definition nonlinear online editing and effects compositing in their Fire*/Inferno suite. Crawford has also been a beta test site for Discreet Logic, helping test their software for Fire* since the first days of its development. Crawford has already completed projects in high-definition for The Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Best Buy, to name a few.
