iXL Concludes American Cancer Society Documentary iXL Concludes American Cancer Society Documentary

iXL, Inc., a premier strategic Internet services firm and wholly owned subsidiary of iXL Enterprises and the iXL Film & Video division announced the production has concluded on the documentary film, “We Are Here” for the American Cancer Society. The piece was designed to showcase the new mission of America’s leading voluntary health organization.

Shot on Super 16mm, the documentary was created, written, produced, and directed by iXL’s Managing Executive Producer/Director, Carolyn Cole and featured cinematography by iXL’s Joel Boorstein and cinematic sound design by iXL’s Jim Williams. Editors Linda Harding, Will Eccleston, and Jim Lucas edited the film in iXL’s state of the art digital facility.

Contracted by TG Madison Advertising, iXL Film & Video called on the talents of Maggie Phillips, the recognizable voice of the Lifetime Channel for narration. Four weeks of filming on location throughout Georgia and an additional week in studio were required to achieve visual artistic diversity. The film will be nationally distributed on video in early 2000.

iXL, Film & Video scored again with World Championship Wresting creating graphics for the popular NITRO and THUNDER programs. NITRO and THUNDER are television shows that showcase the world’s finest wrestlers. Each show sports an individual style and look. iXL, Producer Brandy Wimmer coordinated with Craig Leathers, Vice President and Executive Producer, and Robin Shaw, Director of Post Production, from WCW. Animator Forrest Brown created transitions and “match-up” pages for the two programs. The graphics air as ringside commentators announce upcoming matches. iXL has taken the look of the programs to a new level by creating a unique way to symbolize true wresting style. Animators portray THUNDER with a cool blue “shaky WCW logo” theme and NITRO as a hot red “swirl WCW logo” theme. A corresponding animation precedes each “match-up” page.

Encountering two major challenges during the production process, the iXL team completed a fresh look for WCW. iXL worked under the stringent deadline of 7 days to take the looks from concept to completion. Working around the clock, iXL delivered the final product in time for its debut on the Monday night NITRO show. In addition to this electrifying graphic work, iXL was given the contract to handle overflow post-production from WCW while they moved their video facility to Turner Headquarters. During this time, WCW occupied iXL’s AVID off-line and digital on-line suites.
